Snake Plant (Sansevieria)
Temperature: Average warmth – minimum 50 F in winter.
Light: Bright light with some sun preferred, but will grow in shade.
Water: Water moderately from spring to autumn, allowing compost to dry out slightly between waterings. In winter water every 1-2 months. Avoid wetting the heart of the plant.
Air Humidity: Misting is not necessary.
Repotting: Seldom required – repot when growth cracks the pot.
Propagation: Remove offset by cutting off at base – allow to dry before inserting in compost. Alternatively divide up plant. Leaf cuttings can be used for all-green varieties. |
